Invitation Situation

The invitations are going to be DIY, I've known that from the start. There's a lot of different ways you can DIY with wedding invitations, its just a matter of deciding how much work you want to put into it. You can buy the kit and have it done on your own, or you can do everything from scratch. We actually started out with a DIY kit I picked up from Michael's from the Bride's collection.

When we decided to change the colors from pink & brown to black I knew these invitations wouldn't work anymore. I still love the idea of a pocket fold invitation. I found a site called Cards & Pockets that sold the pockets! I ordered a few samples and let me tell you, their customer service is amazing! I had an issue with not getting the right color card stock, I placed another order for a 2nd sample and they sent me the correct color right away.

We've been working on our design for a while in photoshop. The text is fine but we're having some issue with getting the image we really want. I've been playing around with several different things and it's not "there" yet. Our save the dates or my main priority right now and we've got to change the RSVP cards since people have to choose a dish. I'm pretty confident though that between Dave & I, we'll be able to get it perfect. We're also checking around to see if it will be beneficial to hire someone to do the printing for us.

What kind of struggles have you had with your DIY invitations?
